INDIANAPOLIS, December 3, 2024 – Teach Indy received a $40,000 grant from Glick Philanthropies to continue to expand the reach of Teach Indy’s Reimagining the Teacher Role (RTR) Cohort. Glick Philanthropies – a family of charitable initiatives dedicated to building community and creating opportunity that empowers every person to reach their full potential – recently announced more than $1.86 million in grants to 40 nonprofit organizations.

Teach Indy, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit, will use the funding to support the second year of its first-of-its kind local program, which engages cohorts of teachers to design innovative solutions to address challenges that drive educators from the classroom. Teach Indy launched the RTR cohort in January in partnership with four schools in Lawrence Township and will continue its work next year in additional schools. Among teachers who participated in the first cohort, 86% said they’re more likely to stay in the profession in the near-term because of their experience.

“This funding will enable us to engage more schools and educators in an enriching process to design solutions for increasing teacher satisfaction and retention, and that has an immensely positive impact on students,” said Sara Marshall, executive director of Teach Indy. “We’re grateful to Glick Philanthropies for their support and commitment to elevating education in Indianapolis.”Glick Philanthropies awards grants to tax-exempt organizations serving central Indiana and communities where Glick Company managed properties are located. Grants support efforts to:

  • Support a healthy democracy
  • Strengthen Jewish cultural life

Create Opportunity

We hope these grants empower our nonprofit partners to reach more people with thoughtful, innovative programs.”
