Herron High School

Our flagship campus, Herron High School, is an award-winning, nationally recognized, college-preparatory public charter school with a classical and liberal arts mission. We opened our second campus, Riverside High School, in the fall of 2017. Riverside High School replicates HHS curriculum and culture. Our growing network is now known as Indianapolis Classical Schools.

Herron High School is ranked as the #1 public high school in Indianapolis, according to “”US News and World Report.”” Located in downtown Indianapolis, Herron High School is founded on the belief that a classical, liberal arts and sciences education, where students learn critical thinking skills, is the best preparation for a future life of leadership and service. As a result of our high standards, we are not only ranked as the best high school in Indianapolis, but also #2 in Indiana and in the top 1 percent of all public high schools in the United States. Herron High School provides individualized instruction with a focus on college preparation. Known for outstanding student achievement, we have high expectations for our students, and multiple structures in place to help students meet those expectations. Our students participate in over 50 clubs and several IHSAA athletic options, many of them setting personal and school records each season. In addition to extracurriculars, students are encouraged to participate in the many cultural and overseas opportunities offered each summer.
