Arsenal Technical High School is a unique public high school known for the beauty of its campus and diverse educational programs. Situated on 76 acres on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis, the site did not begin as a school, but as a Civil War arsenal. In the fall of September 1912, the doors to Arsenal Technical High School opened for the first time to 8 teachers and 183 students. Today, boasting an enrollment of over 2,500 students, the campus is still home to many of the original Civil War buildings. Arsenal Technical High School has graduated many men and women with distinguished careers in all fields of endeavor. Tech has an active alumni association that is extremely generous in their support of the campus, donating time, talent and treasure for the betterment of the Tech community. Students in the Construction, Engineering, and Design Academy can choose from Architecture and Design, Construction Trades, Engineering (Construction Management Focus), and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing pathways. Students also have the opportunity to earn multiple industry certifications. Additionally, there are numerous after-school clubs, sports, and extra-curricular opportunities for students to explore and develop their talents. For the athletic Titans, Tech, with 20 varsity sports, is a member of the IHSAA and the North Central Conference. With an emphasis on academics, community service and citizenship, the athletic department focuses on developing champions on and off the fields. Arsenal Technical High School has something for everyone on its campus rich in diversity, culture, and tradition.
