Teach Indy Receives $40,000 Grant from Glick Philanthropies to Continue to Support Local Educators

INDIANAPOLIS, December 17, 2025 – Teach Indy received a $40,000 grant from Glick Philanthropies to continue to expand the support the organization’s ongoing work to elevate teacher voice and strengthen the teaching profession in Indianapolis and beyond. Glick Philanthropies—a family of charitable initiatives dedicated to building community and creating opportunity that empowers every person to reach their full potential—recently announced more than $2.55 million in grants to 44 nonprofit organizations.
Teach Indy, an Indianapolis-based nonprofit, will use the ongoing funding to support educators through community-centered programming and professional learning, including the Teach Indy Educators Conference, teacher leadership initiatives, and platforms that elevate real classroom experiences.
As Teach Indy enters the next phase of its work, the organization is focused on ensuring its programs and platforms reflect the evolving needs of today’s teachers—creating spaces for connection, shared learning, and honest dialogue that help educators feel supported and valued in the profession.
“This continued support from Glick Philanthropies allows us to keep listening to teachers and responding in meaningful ways,” said Sara Marshall, executive director of Teach Indy. “We’re grateful for their ongoing partnership and commitment to strengthening the teaching profession by investing in the people who show up for students every day.”
Glick Philanthropies awards grants to tax-exempt organizations serving central Indiana and communities where Gene B. Glick Company-managed properties are located. Grants support efforts to:
Build Community
- Provide affordable housing
- Support a healthy democracy
- Strengthen Jewish cultural life
Create Opportunity
- Expand equitable opportunities in the arts
- Close education achievement gaps
- Improve access to basic needs
- Increase economic mobility
“Millions of people across the United States are housed, fed, educated, connected, and inspired because of the work of nonprofits,” said Marianne Glick, chair of the Glick Family Foundation. “As a result of state and federal government funding cuts and policy changes, more community members will look to nonprofits to help them fill critical gaps. As nonprofits continue to step up to meet the growing needs of the community, philanthropy must step up to support those nonprofits through funding, beyond-the-check support, and advocacy.”
