Job Summary:
The music teacher will lead daily music instruction across all grade levels in the school as part of the specials team. This educator should have a clear vision for exposure to music across the school that includes students engaging in learning the basics of music and regular choral performances. Music instruction will supplement other core academic areas.

This is a full time position and will work closely in our existing specials department. As a specials teacher, they would see students across all grade levels and be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with our families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Leader

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students.
  • Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of the school’s programs.
  • Maintain equipment inventories, and select, store, or issue equipment as needed
  • Monitor students’ performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and objectives
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  • Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
  • Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
  • Observe students to determine qualifications, limitations, abilities, interests, and other individual characteristics
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Valid IN Teaching License
  • At least 2+ years of teaching or music experience
  • Must be able to work with kids K-12 age
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience in special area
