Irvington Community Schools family liaison is a full time faculty member who works to bridge the gap between home and school by helping parents/guardians get the information and support they need to ensure their child’s academic and social success. The family liaison implements and manages school-wide parenting initiatives and activities to empower parents/guardians to become positive active participants in the education of their children.
Facilitates programs and activities to bridge the gap between home and school for the purpose of helping parents/guardians get information and support needed to ensure their students academic and social success.
Implement a variety of programs to involve parents/guardians, students, and the community in school affairs for the purpose of establishing familiarity with programs, services, and processes.
Support school leadership in communicating and supporting Title I parental/guardian involvement efforts
Establish and build community partnerships to support the growing needs of our school community.
Provide educational programs that strengthen parenting skills and help parents/guardians to provide educational assistance to their children.
Participate in staff development, training programs, faculty meetings, and special events.
Work to support and expand parent/guardian engagement efforts with the school social worker(s).
Establish and maintain PTO efforts for the three Irvington Community School Campuses.
Other duties as may be assigned
Bachelors Degree in education, public relations, marketing, journalism, political science or other related field preferred
Knowledge of the education or non-profit industries.
Knowledge of the public charter school industry is preferred.
Critical thinker with the ability to apply strategy to decision-making processes.
Successful, measurable experience in community outreach and brand development.
Highly-organized, creative, detail-oriented and self-directed professional.
Effective oral and written communicator.
Proficient with Google Apps for education and social media.
Primary hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 – 4:30. Some evenings and weekend activities may be required
None
Minimal: lifting and carrying boxes of files for storage (max. 50 lbs.)
