About Invent Learning Hub 

Invent Learning Hub is an innovative new approach to traditional public education. In the fall of 2019,  we will open our doors to 150 elementary students who will be a part of our experience-driven  curriculum. Through our Design Thinking and Pathways courses, students will learn the skills and  mindsets needed for livable wage careers in the 21st century. These programs, combined with our  rigorous math and ELA curriculum will put our students on a path for success that they will carry on  past their days at ILH.

Responsibilities 

The Invent Learning Hub Teacher role includes (but is not limited to): 

  • Assisting in establishing an exemplary school culture that is built on a human-centered respect for all students and staff.
  • Serving as a key member of the leadership team to develop systems, policies and procedures that build a successful school academic and SEL culture.
  • Building trust and community through leading weekly mentor groups focusing on developing social and emotional skills and supporting the SEL needs of our students.
  • Maintaining timely and frequent communication with parents and stakeholders building meaningful relationships with all involved in the success of our students.
  • Developing community partnerships to engage our community in supporting the work ILH is striving to accomplish.
  • Maintaining all student information in the school’s Student Information System. Accurately filing student records when received and maintaining cumulative folders for all students enrolled in ILH. 
  • Ensuring all online systems have updated student and staff rosters with login and password information. Collaborating with team members to develop and maintain a school culture that focuses on human centered solutions and support for every member of the team through weekly staff SEL circles. Ensuring all interactions with staff, students, parents, and stakeholders exhibit your commitment to professionalism and human-centeredness.  
  • Supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities as needed.
Required Education, Credentials, & Experience 
  • At least two years of experience in an urban school preferred
  • Perseverance to work in a startup environment
  • Passion for working with a diverse student body and community.
  • Optimism, resilience, open-mindedness, and creativity to try new things, fail, but maintain a relentless drive to improve your practice.

Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment. Duties may be occasionally performed on  field trips away from school. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The Classroom  Teacher usually works in standards classrooms, but will frequently be required to complete tasks in a wide  variety of locations within the school campus. The Classroom Teacher works a standard workweek, but  additionally may work evenings, weekends, and any additional hours necessary to accommodate activities such  as committees, fundraisers, public meetings, and representing the organization at public events.
