Big Ten Football Junior Journalism Program

We are looking for 15 middle school students to apply for the Inspiring Sports Junior Journalism Program! The workshop will teach middle school-age girls and boys the roles and responsibilities of journalists.

Junior Journalism is a program for girls and boys in 5th through 8th grade. The Big Ten Football Championship Game Local Organizing Committee will select 15 students to participate. Each student will be paired with one Big Ten University or the Big Ten Conference. Students are required to write an article featuring the assigned University’s football team, which includes conducting research, interviews, and any necessary work to complete the article.

In addition to the articles, all participants will participate in an in-person workshop on Friday, December 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium, the day before the Championship Game. All participants will be credentialed by the Big Ten, get the chance to tour Lucas Oil Stadium, and will receive two tickets to the Championship Game.

Applications are due September 22.
