FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 11, 2023 – On Saturday, May 20, Teach Indy and the Indianapolis Indians are excited to host Teacher Appreciation Night at Victory Field. Current educators, school leaders, and school support staff are welcome to attend as we aim to pack the park with those who support our students. Educators may purchase tickets for themselves as well as their friends and family at a discounted rate of $10 per person. Teach Indy is excited to help spread the word about this event to the amazing community of educators here in Indianapolis and across our state. Teach Indy will be there that night, May 20th, saying thank you to educators and joining in the celebration of another great school year coming to an end.
“Teach Indy is thrilled to support Teacher Appreciation Night and to celebrate our educators,” said Sara Marshall, Teach Indy’s Executive Director. “As we close out the 2022-23 school year, it is so important to recognize the work, service, and sacrifices of our educators over the past year.”
“Our organization takes great pride in creating memorable family experiences in partnership with our community, and Teacher Appreciation Night at Victory Field will be a hit for so many deserving educators,” said Randy Lewandowski, Indianapolis Indians president and general manager. “We are ready to celebrate the end of the school year and arrival of summer by recognizing and welcoming hundreds of Indianapolis educators to the Vic.”
Ticket sales for this event will stay open until May 19, so be sure to grab your tickets now! Additionally, Teach Indy will be hosting the last of its New Teacher Program Events Series that night with a fun Picnic at the Ballpark for educators who are finishing their first year of teaching. This event is free, and more information can be found at teachindynow.org.
The New Teacher Program is an opportunity for Teach Indy and community partners like the Indianapolis Indians to welcome and celebrate our newest educators as well as college students who are joining classrooms in the near future. Teacher Appreciation Night at Victory Field will play host to the fourth and final New Teacher Program event for the 2022-23 academic year.
On top of Teacher Appreciation Night, that weekend is also Prospects Weekend at Victory Field. Be one of the first 1,000 fans through the gates to receive an Oneil Cruz bobblehead, and secure autographs from your favorite Indianapolis Indians on the concourse from 5-5:45 PM. On the field, the Indians will wear jerseys designed in the spirit of their MLB affiliate, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Replica jerseys and caps are now available for purchase in the Hot Corner Gift Shop. Gates open early at 5 PM.
